Brief Description: An extinct language spoken in Canary Islands. Very little was recorded of the language, so its relationships are still under dispute, though it is probably related to the Berber languages, and thus Afroasiatic: the Genovese explorer Nicoloso da Recco recorded the numbers from 1-16 from one dialect in 1341, and these show strong similarities to Berber. Until c 1600 AD.
