Brief Description: "Seneca is a Northern Iroquoian language, originally spoken by the westernmost tribe of the Six Nations Iroquois Confederacy in western New York and adjacent Pennsylvania. It is now spoken by about 100 people in three reservation communities in New York: Cattaraugus, on Lake Erie; Allegany, in Salamanca; and Tonawanda, near Buffalo. The youngest speaker is in his 50s."
