Brief Description:
"Wiyot was an Algic language of the Humboldt Bay region of northwestern California, distantly related to the Algonquian languages as well as to adjacent Yurok. It is the heritage language of the Wiyot tribe, whose principal modern community is at Table Bluff Rancheria near Ferndale. The last speaker died in 1961."
